GET MOTIVATED! Business Seminar: Capacity Crowd Expected Morning and Afternoon Drive Times to be Impacted
The RBC Center will host Get Motivated, a high profile business seminar, on Wednesday, September 8th from 8:00am-4:45pm Anticipated attendance of 18,000 people may create heavy traffic delays during the morning and afternoon commutes.
Areas to be heavily impacted with event traffic are I-40, I-440, Wade Avenue, Blue Ridge Road, Trinity Road, and Edward’s Mill Road. There will be an afternoon ramp closure on Wade Avenue eastbound at Blue Ridge Road.
Those attending the event should carpool if possible, and arrive early. Parking lots will open at 5:30am and the RBC Center doors open at 6:45a.m. Please have exact change ready for parking fee. PARKING TIPS
Peak times for traffic congestion are expected to be 7 to 9:30 a.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. If arriving at the RBC Center after 7:00am, anticipate ramp closures and detours on Wade Avenue and Edwards Mill Road as parking lots will fill early.
Local traffic is encouraged to consider alternate routes.
- North Raleigh morning commuters should consider Glenwood Avenue and I-540 as alternate routes to I-40 westbound. This is also the recommended route for US-64 commuters to avoid heavy traffic and possible delays.
- Morning I-440 traffic that usually uses Wade Avenue Exit #4 should continue on the Beltline to Exit #1 to access I-40 westbound.
- Those traveling to Smithfield or Clayton should use I-540 East to US-64/264 bypass to I-40 eastbound.
