Royal Comedy Tour Stops at RBC Center February 27

(RALEIGH, N.C.) – After a recent sellout tour, the Royal Comedy Tour returns to the road in 2011 and will stop at the RBC Center Sunday, Feb. 27. With Sommore, Bruce Bruce, D.L. Hughley and friends, the tour features some of the hottest stand-up comedians in the industry.
The original “Queen of Comedy,” Sommore, has emerged as one of America’s top comedic performers consistently delivering sharp sarcasm with an amazing presence. The Trenton, New Jersey native has appeared on various shows including Russell Simmons’ “Def Comedy Jam,” BET’s “Live From LA,” “Showtime at the Apollo” and featured on “The Oprah Winfrey Show.” Sommore received the prestigious Richard Pryor Award for "Comic of the Year." Starring in the ground-breaking Queens of Comedy Tour, Sommore was featured on the Showtime special and now has her own successful DVD “The Queen Stands Alone.” Her film appearances include “Soul Plane,” “A Miami Tail,” “Friday After Next” and “Something New.” Other noteworthy accomplishments include several appearances on the sitcoms "The Hughley’s," "The Parkers" and "Politically Incorrect with Bill Mahar."
D.L. Hughley was the star and producer of his namesake television show that ran on ABC and UPN “The Hughley’s,” He is also known as one of the standout comedians on the hit comedy docu-film “The Original Kings of Comedy.” Hughley has headlined several comedy specials including “D.L. Hughley: Going Home,” and “D.L. Hughley Live,” HBO’s “Unapologetic,” a one-hour Comedy Central special “Shocked and Appalled” and a comedy CD “Notes from the GED.” Most recently he hosted a talk show on CNN “D.L. Hughley Breaks the News” and can now be heard weekday morning on WRKS in New York City.
Bruce Bruce is a name synonymous with keeping audiences rolling with laughter thanks to his captivating improv skills and larger than life comedic style. His stand-up comic talents earned him the highest ratings ever as the host of “BET’s 10th Anniversary Comic View” for two seasons, two-time host “Coming to the Stage,” his own “Comedy Central Presents” special and comedy special DVD “Bruce Bruce Live.” Bruce’s bigger than life personality has transcended the stage to feature film appearances in “Hair Show,” “The Wash,” “Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector” and even cameos in music videos from Ludacris & Outcast.
