“I’m thrilled to be able to help bring the gift of music to these kids,” states Manilow.
Lenovo Center will be the base for the instrument drive in Raleigh, from now through April 26th. The instrument drop off location is open between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday, Noon – 4 p.m. If there is an event on Sunday, the box office is open four hours before the event.
"In a growing school system with limited resources, the arts program benefits tremendously from community support,” said Liz Droessler, Senior Administrator for Arts Education. “Instrument donations help to ensure that students who might not be able to provide their own instrument still have access to music class. Participation in the arts develops the 21st century skills of communication, creativity, and collaboration. The Manilow Music Project is an investment in our future.”
The Manilow Music Project (MMP) is part of The Manilow Fund for Health and Hope. It was formed as a grass roots organization to assist local charities and programs. Its primary focus is to provide musical instruments to high schools and middle schools and to provide music scholarships at universities throughout the US, Canada, and the UK.
